FOUNDING PAPERS

NOTE: We proudly share our founding papers, which shows Restorative Justice Coalition's early, more reformist ideals. Today, we are an abolitionist organization and we no longer follow the general principles of reform (but we will support reforms that may reduce harm without enhancing policing and prisons). For example, in the past, we openly supported well-regulated body cameras. Today, we do not. We support defunding the police and refunding the community. Showing our founding papers helps our audience understand our original intentions and how we have grown, a key tenant in our guiding principles. We grow with no shame--growth and transformation has allowed us to build better political understandings and stronger political principles. We encourage all organizations and individuals to show their growth without shame.
